Monster of a Show

Small Press Expo is usually my last show of the year, but it turns out I've got two more to go before we say goodbye to 2026!

November 6 from 6pm–9pm, I'll be at the Movement Rockville climbing gym for their 4th annual Artist Fair!

This is a free event where local crafters and artists get to show off their wares while you get your climb on! It's really fun tabling at the gym. No one expects an art market when you're chalking up to work on your projects so the surprised looks on climbers' faces are great. But it's also fun to get my work in front of people who don't normally hit up the comic con circuit.

The first Friday of every month, Movement climbing gyms in the DMV run a bring a friend promotion. If you're new to climbing and bring a friend, both of you will get 50% off your day pass. And if you're already a member of Movement, you can bring in a guest for free without using your guest passes. First Friday happens year round so if you miss the art fair, you can still get your climbing discounts when that first Friday in December rolls around.

MONSTER OF A SHOW

The very next day, November 7, I'll be up in Baltimore for Monster of a Show from 10am – 4pm! I'm so excited to be a part of this one! This is a new show for me as a vendor. I've gone a bunch of times as an attendee and love the variety of monster stuff everyone brings.

So obviously, this is a monster themed craft show. All the vendors make stuff with monsters in them which is just as amazing as it sounds. This is their 19th year! AND it's free to attend so if you love cute critters, you have no excuses. Well, maybe if you don't live close to Baltimore.

So get your climb on Friday night and check out the artists there, and spend your recovery the next day hanging out with a bunch of cool monsters. Both events are free and I'll be there so you get to see me!

ART STREAMING

Okay, so I get it. Some people don't live near Maryland. But if you still want to hang out, I've been doing my Lunch and Draw art streams every Tuesday and Thursday from 11:30AM to 1:30PM EST. It's a chance for me to do some personal work which is always nice. Lately, I've been doing some 3D sculpting in ZBrush which is a lot of fun. I don't often get to do much 3D stuff so it's a nice change of pace.

So if you'd like to see me push through the ugly phase of every art project in real time, stop on by the streams. I also have them archived on my youtube channel so if you miss a broadcast or can't make the live time, you can catch up there and have em run in the background while you're doing something else.

Alright, I hope you all have a safe and healthy rest of 2026! And if I don't check in before then, have an awesome holiday season!

School's back in session for the kiddos in Maryland which means it's the perfect time to start a new project. It's time for a streaming Lunch and Draw! I'll be starting up an art stream this week Tuesday and Thursday from 11:30AM to 1:30PM EST. This sounds like a weird thing for an old such as I to get into, but there is a madness to the method. When I'm in the process of drawing a book, I hardly make time for anything else art wise. This means no personal work that can help build up my...

In the universe of Soccer Gods, legends and heroes of myth and folklore come together to compete in a sort of celestial soccer...

Thank you to everyone who came out this past weekend to Kaiju Brooklyn! I got to meet the big guy himself courtesy of Project Nautilus who crafted this highly detailed Godzilla suit. It was such a whirlwind of a show that I didn't get the opportunity to take many photos. But if you are at all a fan of giant monsters or karate bug men in suits, keep your eyes on May for next year's Kaiju Brooklyn! Thank you to the team who put together such a fantastic event. The vibes are so good and the...
